On the north west corner of this prakara, we find the shrine of Muruga with his consorts Valli and Deivanai. On the outer walls of this shrine, we can see the paintings of the deities of the Arupadai Veedu(Six main temples of Lord Muruga)viz Thirupparangunram,Thirucheeralaivaai,Thiruvaavinankudi,Thiruveragam,Kundruthoraadal and Pazhamudhir cholai. On the northern prahara, we can have a darshan of Chandeshwarar,Swarna Durga and in the North eastern side, Bhairavar and Sun God in their Sannadhis. After crossing the Maha Mandapam and passing through Ardha Mandapam,we come to the Sanctum Sanctorum of the prime deity, Sri Sugavaneswarar. The Lord is Majestically enshrined in the form of and this is the form which symbalises the visible and invisible manifestation of the Supreme Being.

It is believed that the Vikatachakkra Vinayaka (Saktha Vinayaka) enshrined in this temple removes the illness (balarishtam) which attacks the children and the devotees who sincerely worship this deity are benifited by the grace of this deity. The Navagraha idols in this temple are slightly in a different formation as the Ragu and Mars Grahas have exchanged their position here. These two Grahas are supposed to be bestowing benefits like good job and matrimony to the devotees. On the inner surface of the roof over the Navagraha, we can see the figures of lizard and guna. The ill-effects attributable to the falling lizard on a persons body are warded off here.
